Bibliography and Research on Eastern European Marxist Aesthetics

The program titled “Bibliography and Research on Eastern European Marxist Aesthetics” at Sichuan University is a key project funded by the China National Social Science Fund from 2015 to 2022. It aimed to systematically compile Eastern European Marxist aesthetics from a Chinese perspective, conducting in-depth research on its core propositions involving seven Eastern European countries: Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Yugoslavia, and East Germany. It provided a comprehensive overview from six paradigms: praxis aesthetics, theory of Realism, critique of aesthetic modernity, semiotic aesthetics, aesthetics of genres, and cultural theory. The program’s chief expert is Professor Fu Qilin of Sichuan University. The program has hosted a number of distinguished scholars from throughout the world who work in the field, including Ágnes Heller, Galin Tihanov, Peter Steiner, Peter Beilharz, Feng Xianguang, Zhao Yiheng, Hu Yamin, and Zhou Qichao.
