Goethe-Institut South America
The Goethe-Institut in South America is a German cultural institute that – apart from teaching German and providing information about Germany – has a focus on dealing with themes that are urgent for the Global South. Drawing on cultural, artistic, and intellectual networks and partnerships, we address questions of migration – especially South-South migration – decolonization, history, racism, the crisis of the left, and urbanism through various projects with different formats (including, for example, Episodes of the South). These projects are mainly regionally organized and seek to establish better exchanges between the countries within South America and/or between the continents of Africa, Asia, and South America.
