The Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) offers fellowships funded through the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Department of Science and Technology in conjunction with the South African National Research Foundation, and the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences. This funding provides for Next Generation Researchers, Early Career Doctoral Fellows, Postdoctoral Fellowships, Doctoral, Masters and Honors Fellowships, as well as Artists in Residence in the Factory of the Arts. In addition, the CHR provides funding through the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for exchanges enabling artists in residence, doctoral and postdoctoral fellows, and faculty, to spend up to a semester at partner institutions, and vice versa.
