The Karl Marx – Friedrich Engels Papers housed at the International Institute of Social History (IISH) include a collection of original documents from the historical party-archives of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD) acquired from the SPD in exile in 1938. These documents were supplemented with photocopies and other documents collected by the IISH in the 1960s and later. The collection is extensive and includes correspondence, manuscripts, notebooks, personal documents, and more.
