M.A. in Culture and Thought after 1945
University of York
The M.A. in Culture and Thought after 1945 is a flexible taught program that enables students to explore some of the key intellectual, cultural, and historical developments of the contemporary period. The M.A. provides a foundation in various disciplinary and transdisciplinary ways of conceptualizing and analyzing the contemporary across arts and humanities subjects. It allows students to develop exciting connections between research areas and theoretical fields and to become part of a lively postgraduate community within the University of York’s Centre for Modern Studies. Students construct a program that suits their particular interests, and can take the course full-time (one year) or part-time (two years). All students follow the team-taught core module, «Framing the Contemporary,» and choose three M.A. optional modules offered by partner departments (Archaeology, English, the Centre for Women’s Studies, History, History of Art and Sociology).
