M.A. in English, Ph.D. in English/Comparative Literature

The M.A. in English aims to (1) develop research talent in English and American literature and culture; (2) provide a solid theoretical basis for literary and cultural interpretation to enable in-depth research and analysis; and (3) offer advanced courses in research methodology and writing.
The Ph.D. program concentrates on English and American literatures, comparative literature, and other topics and approaches relevant to these areas. The Ph.D. program aims to (1) train specialists in English and American literature and comparative literature, for teaching and research purposes; (2) construct a panoramic vision of the literary humanities on a solid cultural and theoretic basis to strengthen research and forms of other intellectual inquiry, and (3) promote cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary research on specific literary topics, and highlight indigenous scholarship and research.
