M.A. in Gender Studies and Cultural Studies

The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities-Skopje (ISSHS) is a scientific research institution accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Macedonia. It offers accredited M.A. programs in gender studies, cultural studies, and policy studies. The ISSHS M.A. program in gender studies covers philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, political studies, psychoanalytic theory, poststructuralist theories of identity and semiotics, focusing on structuralism, Marxism and applied social research. The M.A. in cultural studies offers interdisciplinary training in political, sociological, psychoanalytic, ethnological, economic approaches.

In addition to educational activities, graduate candidates can participate in the research projects of the ISSHS on themes related to society, culture, politics, and gender. The Institute organizes conferences, public debates, symposia, and summer schools. Publishing is one of its regular activities.
