The research team, referred to by some international scholars as the “Chengdu School of Critical Theory”, brings together over 40 scholars spanning three generations. The center has also hosted a number of highly qualified post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D candidates, and M.A. candidates, all of whose research revolves around Marxist literary theory, often intersecting with Chinese literary theory and aesthetics. By researching, translating, and engaging with the problems and methods of global Marxist literary and aesthetic theory, the Marxist Literary Theory Research Center of the College of Chinese Language and Literature at Sichuan University is working to develop and expand communications and discussions with Marxist academic circles, promoting the construction of Chinese Marxist literary theory and aesthetics.
