Theory and Practice Workshop

American University in Cairo

The Theory and Practice Workshop is a collaborative effort among the faculty members and students housed at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the American University in Cairo (AUC). The workshop provides the AUC community and wider public a forum to engage in conversations about culture, society, politics, history, philosophy, and the arts. We encourage cross-disciplinary work, and we welcome all regional specializations, methodological approaches, and work from any historical period. The workshop seeks to provide the scholars with a laboratory to experiment with new ideas, as well as to inform the wider public about emerging trends in various academic disciplines. Ultimately, our goal is to be an open resource for faculty, students, and members of the wider community to think critically and beyond the confines of the received wisdom of their fields and professions.
