Academy of Global Humanities and Critical Theory

University of Bologna, Duke University, University of Virginia

The Academy of Global Humanities and Critical Theory is an intellectual framework through which academic institutions and scholars around the world can convene and collaborate. We promote educational experiences including a summer school, and we encourage the growth of inter-institutional research groups on themes of general interest, including social movements and social protests, visual and communications studies, political concepts, health humanities, and digital humanities, among others. We also organize symposia, conferences, publications, and short-term residencies, and humanities laboratories, and we design and promote innovative programs that integrate critical theory with a global perspective using new theoretical frameworks and interpretative categories.
