Center for Arts and Humanities Postdoctoral Fellowship
Center for Arts and Humanities
American University of Beirut
The Center for Arts and Humanities (CAH) offers two Postdoctoral Fellowships, open to recent recipients of the Ph.D. who are in engaged in scholarly or creative pursuits in critical and theoretical approaches to the arts and humanities, whose research and teaching interests involve one or more of the following disciplines: Arabic language; Arabic literature; archaeology; art history; English language; English literature; fine arts (visual arts, theater, and music); history; and philosophy.
The American University of Beirut (AUB) is particularly interested in innovative work that crosses disciplinary boundaries. The fellowships are intended to encourage junior and mid-career faculty to actively reimagine their disciplines and to develop innovative seminars and programs in the arts and humanities.
Three one-year AUB Faculty Fellowships will support recipients in the achievement of these goals by encouraging research proposals that explore new ways of conducting, presenting, and disseminating research, and of bringing it into the classroom. Faculty fellows will be expected to develop and teach one seminar during the academic year.
The dynamic integration of the fellowships with CAH’s program activities will sustain our transformational and independent forum for collaborative and interdisciplinary curricular experimentation, research, and intellectual dialogue.
