The Kharkov Center for Gender Studies (KCGS) is the first university gender studies center in Ukraine, and the organizer of the University Network on Gender Studies for the Countries of the Former USSR, which includes: Gender Studies Journal (since 1998), Gender Studies and Feminist Collection book series (since 2001), International Summer Institute in Crimea (1998-2009), and KCGS discussion mailing list. The educational and research activity of KCGS is focused on feminist theory, feminist philosophy, feminist political theory, postcolonial feminist theory, and feminist literary criticism.
