Center for Excellence for the Middle East and Arab Cultures

The American University in Cairo

The Center of Excellence for the Middle East and Arab Cultures at The American University in Cairo (AUC) Libraries is not conceived as a physical space, but as a network of dedicated staff with expertise in Middle Eastern studies. The Center bridges the AUC Main Library and the Rare Books and Special Collections Library. Its staff build collections for both libraries and promote the use of existing collections. Its activities go beyond the library’s core mission of supporting academic programs at the university to include assembling outstanding resources on the society and culture of Egypt and the region that will be of value to researchers from around the world.
